Well, whaddya know…?

Turns out the TSA guy wasn’t just blowing smoke. The small print on my online check-in/boarding pass says what he said…the liquid is supposed to be in a ziplock and separated. Oh, well…I have hardly any signs of trauma.

Abrupt ending to last post…

The shuttle arrived like 15 minutes early (after rescheduling yesterday for 20 minutes later than origianl) and rang the doorbell after I’d specifically instructed not to (since the kids were sleeping). Anyway, made it through TSA without issue, although apparently you are still supposed to separate any liquid/gel bottles from your regular stuff (even if…

What did I forget?

So I’m about to be picked up for my ride to the airport (yes, I’ve seen the clock and realize it is only 3:35 am right now), and I’m at the stage of wondering what I forgot to pack. Think I’ve got all the majors covered, and even went through things with JoAnn last night,…

Forecast: Sunny and 76!

Well, not here, obviously. We’re too busy raining and being blown about by the wind. That’s San Diego, where I’ll be arriving at in about 18 hours or so… For those that have never flown into San Diego…you’ve got to do it sometime. It looks and feels like you are landing in the middle of…

They have sun in San Diego…!

So I’m prepping to leave tomorrow morning–way early to make sure I get there, get through security, and make the flight with time to spare. It’s kinda strange, since I’ve never been away from the kids for more than one night. JoAnn has her twice-yearly retreats where she is gone for 3-4 days, but they…

Halloween pic

I’d completely spaced posting the Halloween pics, but that was a rough week, with Mika’s eye injury and all. But belatedly, here it is with my interpretations: Sammy: 90% Captain Jack Sparrow, 10% belly dancer (note the bared midriff…)Josh: you’ll have to click on the pic to enlarge it to see, but he has the…

…and a Vegemite sandwich

So I am at a client’s site yesterday, and they have an employee who is an Aussie. I am offered (and when I write “offered”, I mean some strange cross between offered, nicely demanding, and double-dog-daring…) a piece of a Vegemite sandwich. Never had before, and Australians, despite their checkered history, tend to be nice…

Hit-and-run update

In a bold display of efficiency by the Tacoma Police Department, we now have an actual case number. Ooooooh. What does this mean at this point? Not a whole lot, other than everything will now be officially tracked. JoAnn was told that prosecution may be unlikely–apparently the Prosecutor’s office doesn’t want to take the time…

Car update…

Funny how things happen sometimes. JoAnn gets a knock on the door late this afternoon…from a man and woman who witnessed the hit-and-run. And followed the car for quite some time, as it hit another car about 6 blocks away. Stopped her, tried to take her keys, but she took off. (Oh, and by the…

Update

So…other pic up now. The big piece by my car is the main part of the offender’s sideview mirror. And we did get some action once our Councilman got involved. Got an email from the District Commander about it–turns out, first of all, that there is no time limit to reporting, in direct conflict to…
