Olympia Family Theatre

Last night we went to the Olympia Family Theatre‘s production of BFG (for those who aren’t familiar, Big Friendly Giant by Roald Dahl of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory fame).
I normally don’t give glowing reviews, but the performance was phenomenal. We were in a very small theatre at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts at South Puget Sound Community College, but they made it work extraordinarily well, not only with their limited sets, but their acting and interaction with the audience as well. It was one of the best performances I’ve seen–and that’s even including seeing Phantom live. (Almost to the level of Phantom, but falling a bit short…but that’s also a very high bar!)
I absolutely loved how they did the giant vs normal perspective thing…but can’t give that away. It was one of the best parts.
Check out their site for schedule of performances…and go!
