More on Occupy Tacoma…

So since my previous posts about Occupy Tacoma (actually, more specifically about the effectiveness of it and similar “organizing” actions in our old neighborhood), there’s been some really interesting traffic to the blog. Some folks have gotten, well, almost obsessive in looking through the blog… Let’s add to that, shall we? Here is a video…

The Move’s Done…

So…Saturday. Moving Day. Long, long day preceded by long days of packing and arranging, followed by long days of cleaning (of the old place) and settling into the new. But at least it’s over. That’s a very good part of the process.

Update on the Occupy Tacoma Saga…

Original post here, for those that haven’t been paying attention. Also make sure to read the comments. And do your penance here. But let’s circle back to the topic at hand. Seems my email and posts yesterday caused some small amount of ruckus, because blog hits in the area were way up, and as you saw in…

Tacoma’s Occupiers…Must Not Criticize

So earlier today I got an email from a self-appointed leader of our former neighborhood group when we were in Tacoma. Last year when we moved, we really couldn’t afford it…it was a large sum of money to come up with with short notice. This year, well, we were caught by surprise, seeing as how we’d arranged a multi-year lease. But both times there have been special, larger, non-standard projects with clients that came up. So…

Update on the Newest Saga

Today after church we went over to the new possible property to meet with our now-former property management company and view the inside of the house. We’ve realized there is not going to be a perfect house, because it would include the yard from our current house, among other things. But…there are some great things…

Not What I Signed Up For…

Referring, of course to the possibility of moving twice in one year. Last year, when we moved, it was with the expectation of being here at least two years, since that’s what I’d negotiated the lease to be. But now that the owners have decided to look into selling their house (or, in this case,…
