The Six Degrees of Separation: Christmas 2015 Edition
- by Scott
For those unfamiliar with the phrase, ‘six degrees of separation’ refers to a theory that every person is connected to any other person by six degrees/connections or less.
I’m wary, for good reason, for getting what seem random Facebook friend requests. I normally look extensively at the profile before accepting, and one I received today was no different. Things looked in order, at initially seemed like there was something familiar in some of what she’d written (which turned out to be wrong, but…), so I accepted the request from Tanya Blount Trotter.
Shortly after, got a nice PM, and one of the tidbits she included was that she’d been Sister Act 2 years ago, singing His Eye Is On The Sparrow.
Strangely ‘coincidental’, since not only do I like that movie, but had posted something about the soundtrack six days ago on Facebook, unbeknownst to her. She was looking for people in the WA State area because her band (The War and Treaty, with her and husband Michael Trotter Jr) will be touring in the area next year, and my name came up in the search.
The initial timeline was for the end of this year, but is being rescheduled because of a family emergency in November. I’ll post date and time once rescheduled!
In the meantime, here’s a great cover article about them from a couple years ago! And she has a couple books on Amazon…
