Josh, in discovering his vocal cords (despite still not saying “Dada”), has added something entirely new to his repertoire: it sounds something like a growl of a possessed rabid monster dog. Roughly. It’s odd, but he seems to enjoy it, and as bad as it may be, it’s easier on the ears than the shrieking.…

Yes, this really is the front of his new shirt. And each of them applies (though he’s not really in trouble much…)

Did we mention that Josh seems advanced? Here he is ready to take on Sammy in Madden 08. …but he’s not quite ready. Only because he can’t yell “TOUCHDOWN!” and “INTERCEPTION!” quite yet. God help us when he does…

Sometimes I wonder if he really is not-quite one. He seems older. Bigger. Stronger. Smarter. More advanced. And plays older…here he is splashin’ up a storm, getting me wetter than he was, I think.

It’s amazing to think that tomorrow will be Joshua’s first birthday. The days have flown by…with the exception of that one-week period of time.

Today’s PhotoHunter theme is Narrow. Below is a pic from Josh on Christmas morning–notice his eyes…how narrow they are, looking angry, as if asking where all of his loot is.

Joshua’s newest and most favorite things to do are to give lots of wet, slobbery kisses, followed closely by, or in many case, intermingled with, blowing raspberries on the cheek or neck. And those are exceedingly slobbery. But still very cute. And tickle-y…

So here he is, 2 days shy of 11 months old. Already walking. Now eating. Not that he wasn’t eating before, but now he’s feeding himself. Not all the time, but he is able to… Oh, and he tried running yesterday…whether accidental or not, that’ll be coming soon!

Just this weekend Josh began taking very tentative steps. At first, he didn’t notice he was doing it, then noticed, then noticed our reaction, and then realized that HE liked it too. Now, it’s no big deal. Granted, he’s not full-time walking, but he’s got the hang of it.

This pic sums up both the best and the worst of 2007. For those that do not know (saga began here), Joshua was taken to the hospital at 3 weeks old..and we ended up being there for an entire gut-wrenching, sleep-deprived week. But the day we left is when this picture was taken, and was…
