Methods

Was asked what the natural/homeopathic methods were, so see below.

Gelsemium (calms nerves, relaxes)* (checking whether the abbreviation was translated correctly…)
Cimicifuga (blue cohosh)–estrogen-like properties, facilitates labor
Caulophyllum Thalictroides (black cohosh)–can induce labor, also is a bug repellant! (sorry…may be tired, anxious, and concerned, but the sense of humor is still there)

And then there’s castor oil. Quoted from the Wikipedia article: “Besides being a laxative, Castor oil is used throughout the world to help women start labor.” Also from the article: “In Fascist Italy under the regime of Benito Mussolini, castor oil was one of the tools of the blackshirts. “. We are using as the former rather than the latter…labor is our aim, not political terror.

  1. Thanks, Scott. I'd forgotten about good 'ol Castor Oil! I made the mistake of reading the link to the blackshirts–not the worst use of torture I've heard, but pretty nasty!
