The Maryland State Board of Education recently ruled that the “right (of parents) is not absolute. It must bend to the State’s duty to educate its citizens.”
I’m not sure even Soviet Russia was so focused or blunt…but the Board did use another Soviet tactic in eliminating opposition. But more on that in a bit.
One major movement in Maryland is regarding the teaching of homosexuality as not just accepted and approved, but also only teaching the “positives” of the lifestyle. They’ve adopted a curriculum that has previously been overturned by a federal judge (you know it’s got to be pretty slanted if a federal judge doesn’t support it), and have taken it a step further. And true to Soviet tactics, the Board refused to hear arguments from those who oppose the promotion of homosexuality in the classroom.
What takes places in one state will make its way to others, especially liberal ones like Washington…
