But perhaps rather than knowing how to spell, their self-esteem is high…and I’m positive that the solution would be to throw more money at the issue. That always works.

Ok – so you've lost me as a blog reader. I have enjoyed reading about your family but I'm tired of reading about how bad you think the public schools are. I know this is your blog and you can post whatever you wish; I just don't care to read to read it anymore.
Since you posted anonymously, I don't know how much of an impact this is to me. I am sorry you feel this way, but as you wrote, it is my blog, and yes, I do believe that public schools sometimes ARE bad, especially when the focus is on everything and anything but learning.
