Another Selfish Reason to Homeschool

At the Tacoma Public Library Kid’s Reading Program day at the Zoo (or whatever it’s called), there was a song played about backpacks and the whole issue of needing to get a new one with the school year coming up. I was thinking of all the ones at the stores–the Hannah Montana, Spiderman, Iron Man, Hulk, etc ad nauseum…the commercialization of our kids.

Yet another thing we don’t have to deal with as homeschoolers. That and the whole “school clothes” thing. And I’m very grateful.
