Bailout Bill…

Aside from the very valid arguments that the bailout bill is unnecessary, exceedingly expensive, exceedingly expansive, and just a bad idea in general, I’d like to explain a very simple reason why the bill should not be passed by the House.
That very simple reason is the phrase “…and other purposes”. It finds its way into the purpose introduction of the bill and several other places. Here’s the problem: it opens it completely up to misuse, abuse, and expansion without any restraints. Frankly put, if our Senators and Representatives are not intelligent enough and do not have a good enough grasp of the English language to very specifically state purposes of bills without such phrases, they do not deserve to propose legislation, and do no deserve our votes.
