Review: The Noticer

Thomas Nelson offered up another treasure in The Noticer by Andy Andrews. I don’t often write this, but this book is a must-read.

The book tells the story of Jones, as he’s known to many, an old drifter that offers words of encouragement and great wisdom to people in need of the hope that only those can provide. In his words, it takes only a bit of “perspective” to recognize the little miracles in our struggles. Jones, you see, is a noticer. He notices things that other people overlook or simply don’t respond to.

I read this book on the plane ride to the east coast for my dad’s funeral, so the emotional aspect of the book may have been a bit heightened…I fought back tears about 5 or 6 times during the reading. The book hooked me from the beginning, and I read it in a little over 2 hours. It was incredibly refreshing not just in content, but it the writing style and the imagery of Jones.
