Fairness

Fairness has become a political catchword, but like so many others, and especially like the politically-correct movement, all it really acts as is a control over speech.
The current use is related to “spreading the wealth”, but what the proponents fail to mention, or perhaps even realize, is that while some people do in fact have more money than others, some of those people also work more than others, or harder than others, or smarter than others. So by taking money from “the rich” (which means, despite numbers they may throw out, anyone with more money than you), you are penalizing those people who are working more, harder, or smarter. And calling it fair.
This idea is completely contrary to how this country was founded. But then again, proponents aren’t always interested in what made this country great, because even that greatness was “unfair”.
