Disney…Are You Kidding Me?!
- by Scott
This afternoon I got an email from someone in the Disney marketing department. Normally, something like that would be a bit of an honor for me.
But this was not normal. This email was a promotional email for posting on my site, for an upcoming movie…but without any introduction or anything. I will not post anything about the contents of the email and give them that publicity, but here was my reply:
Some would consider this SPAM.
You give no introduction, no reason as to why this was sent to me, and have the audacity to assume that I’d post your promotional material for free? Seriously?
Update: seems Disney has had other issues in the past with trying to get stuff for free. Check this out: Photo Contest Rights Grab.

Wow…yeah, at first it might seem like a compliment but it sounds like a blanket e-mail spam blast. Totally rude and not up to standard. I like SocialSpark and have written some sponsored posts for companies through it. That is the way to offer promo things like this professionally. Sheesh.
