Christmas: My Kids Know Me Well…
- by Scott
Christmas, for us, is about the kids. We only do little gifts for us adults.
This year, both of bigs (that’s one of the names we use for the older two) found something for me that not only cracked me up, but showed how well they know me.
First up, Mika’s gift:
Yep, that’s right. Iron Man Boxer Briefs. Now before you start thinking this is really odd, here’s the background: years ago Sammy had a Spiderman stage…loved everything Spiderman…wanted everything Spiderman. And so they picked up a pair of Spiderman boxers for me. Partly for Sammy’s amusement. I thought this was hilarious.
Next up, Sammy’s gift:
Hot sauce…lots of hot sauce. I live spicy food…and for those following on twitter, you know that I REALLY like hot sauce, and now so does the Thai restaurant nearby. I’ve got a huge bottle of regular Tabasco from Costco, a regular size of Habanero Tabasco, some Asian chili sauce, and now this. Have already used the Jalapeño, which was great.
Two great gifts and lots of laughs…was a great Christmas.
How was yours?

ha ha. That's awesome. I really didn't have our kids give us gifts this year. I kind of spoiled them though because Grandma being gone…my middle child kept telling me Christmas was going to stink without Grandma. Made me sad. Anyway, we baked cookies and they got spoiled and now I'm picking up remnants of toy boxes to recycle. Going to people's houses kind of sucked, but the time with my kids was the best.
Catching up on your blog…the only thing I ever ask for from my kids is lots of hugs and kisses, homemade cards and some time to play board games…not a big video game fan. My Christmas was perfect. Time with my kids, my parents, my brother and his family, and a whole lot of laughter. Oh, and my parents got me Runny Babbit because I collect Shel Silverstein books and read them to my kids. A perfect day :-d
