And Now For Something Completely Different…

Rather than immediately follow up yesterday’s post with another serious, somber one, we’ll take a little detour today and focus on something lighter. A cleaning of the palate, so to speak.

When I posted about doing this month-long journey, I initially asked for questions to answer. Call it filler. Or fodder. But even in answering some of these questions, you’ll quite possibly get a glimpse into me and what makes me tick. So without further adieu…the question:

So which show is better: Dr Who or Torchwood?

This one is easy. Dr. Who, hands-down (and when referring to Dr. Who, I mean the remakes from 2005 to current, not the God-awful ones from the 60s and 70s). It’s just great sci-fi…with accents and British humor. Which really cannot be beat…

Torchwood is its spinoff, and not nearly as good. Plus, it seems the producers took an intentionally more ‘adult’ route for the series, so there’s more blood, gore, emotion, and unfortunately, sexuality that doesn’t really add anything to the storylines. Plus, by the third series, they’d killed off almost the entire cast that was just really starting to come together. Sadly. Not to say that it doesn’t have some good moments–it does. Just not consistently.

Still looking for other good sci-fi, particularly British, and even more particularly available on Netflix, and even more particularly than than, available on Instant Play. Any suggestions?
