For those that haven’t followed this blog long, this is my oldest son Sammy. Despite only being 9, he is one test away from earning his black belt in taekwondo, and that testing will likely be in June.
In this picture, he is wearing the medals from tournaments over the past 2.5 years. We’ve limited him to only major tournaments, so this represents a total of 4 tournaments…and 4 gold medals (3 in forms, 1 in breaking technique), 1 silver (in breaking technique), and 1 bronze (forms, his very first tournament…and he actually got cheated out of the gold, and we’ve never gone to that particular tournament again–some of the smaller ones tend to favor certain schools waaaaay too much).
We’re a couple weeks away from his next tournament, and first one since our switch to the new dojang last spring/summer. He’s learned a ton more, and is beginning to get excited about this one.
That’s where you come in: please leave a comment to encourage him–he will love that.

Keep up the hard work Sammy!!

I've heard about your training and hard work from your very proud Dad and it certainly seems to be paying off. Keep it up! I'm rooting for you in this tournament!
