Something Strange at the Pharmacy…

After the trip back into Tacoma to drive JoAnn and the kiddos home from JoAnn’s doctor’s appointment, I took her prescriptions to the Safeway pharmacy near the new house. As they were getting checked in, I was asked about insurance, and answered the pharmacist assistant that we’d be paying cash for them. He looked at me like it was a strange thing, asking why we’d do that on this, and I just said it was because we didn’t have insurance. Wasn’t made a big deal or anything.

Went back a few hours later to pick up. As it turns out, one of the prescriptions have an over-the-counter equivalent that was FAR cheaper, so they’d gotten permission to substitute.

That rocks. And is the way it should be.
