Vaccinations, Hysteria, and Mob Mentality…
- by Scott
The recent “outbreak” of measles at Disneyland has sparked quite a bit of controversy and hysteria. On Facebook I’ve seen a huge jump in the number of shared articles calling for all sorts of shaming of parents who don’t fully vaccinate (at the very least) to calling for criminal charges against parents, some even calling for the jailing of “anti-vax” parents. (Matt Walsh wrote quite the post about this very thing recently.)
The next logical step in this mob mentality is to ship them to the gulag, or perhaps even public execution, ISIS-style.
Because that’s what the mob mentality does. It doesn’t care about law. It doesn’t care about actual justice. And it certainly doesn’t care about facts.
This current mob mentality will, on the one hand, condemn the non-vaccinated for risking the health of those who can’t get the vaccine, yet on the other hand won’t acknowledge that there are legitimate medical reasons for some people to not be vaccinated.
Press criminal charges against the unvaccinated anyway.
The current mob mentality will talk about the risks of measles, yet won’t discuss the risks associated with the vaccine itself, that are printed in the ultra fine print of the insert to meet the federal guidelines for informed consent laws, without even really informing. And there are very real risks and very real side effects, particularly with people who have allergies or certain medical conditions…or who have family history of such.
Jail the unvaccinated anyway.
The current mob mentality will call out the unvaccinated, will parade them in public and announce unsubstantiated charges, and will not allow due process…
Remove children from homes.
Tear apart families.
Send the parents to re-education camps.
Just kill the unvaccinated because they are a menace to society.
Because their reasons don’t matter. The mob mentality doesn’t care. More importantly, you don’t care.
You don’t care about the reasons we’ve chosen to do what we have.
You don’t care about the medical history involved.
You don’t care whether we’ve chosen to totally not vaccinate or chosen to not risk a certain set of shots on our children.
Because it doesn’t matter. We’re all the same.
That’s the mob mentality.
Here’s the real kicker, though. It’s your choice to be a part of that mob mentality. It’s your choice to pass along those kinds of posts on Facebook and Twitter.
Fortunately, I have no legal obligation to disclose to the public either the vaccinations we’ve done (or not done) OR our reasons for doing so. We discuss our medical decisions with our children’s pediatrician. As it should be.

The best comment I've read on this topic, and forgive me if it was in response to your article, was along the lines of why should the vaccinated worry…..unless the vaccine isn't doing its job.
