Watch Your Mouth: What NOT to Say…

Listen. I know people may not know what to say to parents in our situation. I totally get that.

But I just read something on another blog, where the mother of a Downs Syndrome daughter was told:

You don’t have to keep her you know.  You can just say goodbye, nice knowing you…

Don’t. Even. Consider. Saying. Something. Like. This.

Let me be clear about a couple decisions that have already been made: regardless of what we find out from the genetic testing, two things that will absolutely not happen are termination and giving our baby up.

This baby is ours, and this is the baby that God has given us.

So spare us both from discovering which end of the spectrum my reaction would come from, and don’t go down that road, k? Good.
