Today’s Update…

Today’s ultrasound verified some of the information from the previous ultrasounds. And while it’s not great news, it’s also incomplete–that is, we’re not sure yet, which leads to the next step. But here is what appears to be the current condition: 1. Body-wise, Evanna’s measuring right on track…almost exactly. Except for the head, which is…

Thursday: Fetal Echocardiogram…

Coming up this Thursday afternoon, we’ll have news of some sort…the appointment is focused on a fetal echocardiogram, though it’s possible, since it’s been over a month now, that it may be more than just that. During the previous ultrasound, there was a frame or two in the video that suggested a possible hole in…

No Rose-Colored Glasses…

The outpouring of love and encouragement since we put out the news about the concerns with Evanna Joy have been amazing. We definitely appreciate and cherish the prayers and words of support. There’ve been times, though, where it feels like some have almost expected us to be distraught rather than hopeful, stressed rather than at peace. But…

Father’s Day for the Fatherless…

I’ve always struggled with Father’s Day.  Not with being a father…that part I like and cherish…but with the other side of the equation and not really having had a father. So whether you are without a father because of his choices in life, or distance, or even death…you are not alone. There are two things…

Personal vs Business…

I admit it…I often blur the line between business and personal. Always have, and by design, considering the tagline on my business card that I came up with when I started the company: Professional without being impersonal. Personal without being unprofessional. It may not always be the best strategy, but I believe work is more enjoyable…

Social Constructs: The Illogical Logic…

A social construct is, according to those that profess such ideas, an idea or notion that appears to be natural and obvious to people who accept it but may or may not represent reality, so it remains largely an invention or artifice of a given society. Therefore, those things deserve not only to be challenged, but…

This Pregnancy: In Her Words…

Earlier today (and after the big baby update), with only a slight hint something along these lines was coming, my wife posted the below. These are her thoughts and feelings, and rather than me rambling on about it, take a peek below.

The Test Results…

We (FINALLY!) got the call from the doctor’s office with the genetic test results today. And…everything they test for, including the big concerns, all were negative. Every. Single. One. Of. Them. Phenomenal news. So what we are looking at are physical issues, not chromosomal abnormalities or other genetic issues. Also: the baby is a girl!…
